Orange Valley started business in October 1993. The founder (Mr. Tan Soo Sam) believed then private nursing homes had a role to deliver Quality Care, Quality Services and Quality Lifestyle to the elderly.
Orange Valley has come a long way since 1993. Back then, nursing homes were looked upon as the place where one’s life journey ends ultimately. In 1994, we laid the tablet of Orange Valley’s philosophy of Residents-First attitude. Today, the culture at Orange Valley’s is forged and everything we do fall back and are tested on our very first principle of "Residents-First”. Our philosophy guards and dictates every Orange Valley’s decision to ensure our residents’ utmost physical comfort and emotional well-being.
Orange Valley was set up as a profit organisation that operates with strict ethical standards while we deliver the best to the thousands of residents it serves. In our developed country where the general population attains increasingly higher education, exposure to world cultures due to greater travel opportunities, greater awareness in an internet economy and a higher standard of living, residents and their family’s expectations of nursing home have gone beyond just the minimum bed space. With family units getting smaller by the day, Orange Valley recognises their increasing preference for a nursing home that provides quality care standards, a complete suite of services that cater to the nursing, medical, rehabilitation and all related needs of the individual resident. They expect a complete experience that resembles their home environment which respects their need for personal attention, comfort, human integrity and pride. |
2003 is the watershed year. The completion of our first purpose-built branch in Clementi has redefined the whole concept of a nursing home. Built with a homelike environment, we have successfully demonstrated that quality nursing care and attention can be provided without a hospital setting.
Attention is paid to the smallest detail in our design, layout, internal and external environment; all to encourage daily activities to resemble the resident’s own home. The dining room on each floor provides a cosy ambience for enjoyable meals. The spacious environment encourages active interactions between family and friends. Residents get to enjoy tranquil reminiscence over a soothing Koi pond, a blooming rooftop garden and abundant greenery in a restful environment. Our residential setting are staffed with our dedicated team of professional caregivers, using only contemporary nursing practices to deliver personal care and attention to our residents. For this reason, we use an integrated management approach to offer our expert services, advice and education support to residents and their families to assist them in making informed decisions regarding treatment, care and aging management. |

Residents at Orange Valley are mainly Singapore’s heartlanders coming from all walks of life. They once led active lives as homemakers, seamstress, bus drivers, supervisors, cooks, teachers, administration managers, lecturers and medical doctors. Our residents’ family profiles are mixed as they come from various socio-economic backgrounds. A factor that is common to all is that the residents are provided with family support.
Orange Valley now consists of an integrated network of 6 branches in Singapore, strategically and conveniently located within 15 minutes’ drive to reach everyone across heartland Singapore. For our branch in Johor Bahru, it is conveniently located within downtown Johor Bahru and caters to Malaysians who work in Singapore. Each time they return to their Malaysian home, they can make a stopover visit to their elderly before travelling up north back to their home. |
